About Me

I have been doing art since I could hold a pencil. I love to work with color pencils the most. Art class is always my favorite. In my state, we have an art competition (Art Symposium) every school year. I have entered the art competition 3 times. The way my school does it, is they have a day where they bring in local judges to pick the art that does go to the competition. My first year I only had 1 art piece picked to go to art symposium and it didn’t get a ribbon. My second year I had 5 pieces going and 3 out of 5 got ribbons. My 3rd year, I had 5 artwork going and all 5 got ribbons. At Art Symposium, only 1/4 out of all the entries get ribbons. This is my favorite part of the year because I get to share my artwork to many people across the state. I’m currently a senior in high school taking all art credits just to be in art class all day.

I’m McKenna, an artist who enjoys the feeling of an artwork coming to life. I love to use colored pencils the most. I feel I have more control with a colored pencil than with a paint brush.

The world around me inspires me to make art. God has given us such a beautiful world and I like to capture those beautiful images on paper. Books, music, and movies also inspire me a lot of create artwork of my own.

Art has always been a part of my life. My Grandpa loves to oil paint and take pictures. My aunt is a photographer and loves to watercolor. My dad and I share our talent with colored pencils. Through my art, I hope to capture the rare moments of light and beauty and bring it to life on paper.
