Hashtag Kalakar Film Festival 2021 Concludes Successfully; ₹85,000 Awarded to Outstanding Short Films

National Film Competition Attracted 691 Registrations and Showcased Emerging Filmmaking Talent

August 2021: Hashtag Kalakar successfully concluded the Hashtag Kalakar Film Festival 2021, a national-level short film competition dedicated to promoting independent filmmakers, storytellers, and creative talent from across India.

The festival received an overwhelming response from aspiring and established filmmakers, with 691 registrations submitted during the competition period. Following eligibility screening and evaluation requirements, 167 entries qualified for the final judging process, where films were assessed on storytelling, originality, direction, technical execution, creativity, and overall impact.

The event was organized with the objective of providing filmmakers with a platform to showcase their work, receive recognition, and compete for substantial cash prizes.

Winners Announced

After a comprehensive review process, the judging panel selected the following films as the official winners of the Hashtag Kalakar Film Festival 2021:

1st Prize Winner – ₹50,000

Aakar (Short Film)

Recognized for its compelling storytelling, creative execution, and cinematic presentation, Aakar secured the top position and was awarded the festival's highest honor along with a cash prize of ₹50,000.

2nd Prize Winner – ₹35,000

PHOBMANIA (Short Film)

PHOBMANIA impressed the judges with its concept, direction, and engaging narrative, earning the second position and a cash prize of ₹35,000.

A total prize pool of ₹85,000 was distributed to the winning filmmakers.

A Platform for Independent Filmmakers

The Hashtag Kalakar Film Festival was created to support independent cinema and provide filmmakers with opportunities to gain recognition for their work.
